The FXDD Team
FXDD
was formed to bring professional dealing to the retail level.
To do this we formed a team that combined decades of professional
expertise in brokerage, trading and technology. The names and
brief biographies below are just a sampling of some of the people on
the FXDD Team. Behind them are a group of
individuals dedicated to giving our clients exceptional execution,
and service that can not be matched. A
career long employee of Tradition, Emil is currently the CEO of
Tradition NA (North America). As CEO, Emil is the sponsor of
FXDirectDealer within the Tradition family of companies. During
Emil's leadership tenure, Tradition NA has grown into one of the
largest over-the-counter institutional brokerage firms in the United
States. He has initiated many profitable new businesses within
the firm that have greatly diversified and positioned the firm for
the future including the purchase of Asiel Securities. Asiel
led to Tradition to becoming a member firm on the New York (NYSE) . Through
FXDirectDealer, Emil envisions a further diversification of the
firm's core institutional voice brokerage business by expanding into
the growing retail online sector. As
Chairman, FXDirectDealer will rely on Emil for his extensive
management experience and knowledge of financial markets to provide
strategic long-term direction and financial support.
Joe has more than 25 years of professional and managerial experience in banking and foreign exchange. During his distinguished career, Joe has been vice president and treasurer at Credito Italiano where he launched the bank’s derivative trading desk. He left Credito Italiano to become deputy general manager of treasury at Bank Cariplo and established that bank’s New York treasury operation. From 1988 until 1998 he was senior vice president and treasurer and later executive vice president and deputy general manger of Bank Brussels Lambert, New York. While at BBL, Joe was responsible for the entire foreign exchange, money market and capital markets operations. He also began a computer based risk management system to monitor and evaluate Treasury Instruments. Mr. Botkier is highly skilled at fostering and maintaining long term relationships with major banks and Fortune 500 companies, building organizational infrastructures that grow and sustain revenue, generate strong profits and identify and capitalize on new and niche market opportunities.
Chaim Levin, Chief Legal Officer Chaim has been practicing law for more than 20 years; for the last six serving as in-house General Counsel. Chaim is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University and its School of Advanced International Studies , where he earned a BA in international relations and an MA in international economics, respectively. Chaim received his JD and International Law Certificate from the Syracuse College of Law where he was the Editor of the Law Journal and authored a noted article about international arbitration awards.
Tom O’Reilly , National Sales Manager Tom joined Tradition and FXDirectDealer in 2003, bringing along 27 years of professional and managerial experience in the FX field. He had a successful career as an interbank voice broker in the spot and forward markets, beginning his career at Noonan, Astley, and Pearce in 1977. He became Senior Vice President while at Fulton Eurolink in New York, and subsequently managed several desks at Lasser Marshall. Tom joined EBS in 1997 and as Liquidity Manager was responsible for their currency and sales promotion programs. He was also instrumental in the creation of many key enhancements to the EBS platform while working with the product development team. Tom graduated from Hofstra University in 1977 with Bachelor of Business degree in Marketing. Greg Michalowski, VP Institutional Trading and Sales
Greg came to FXDirectDealer and Tradition, NA in 2001 with a broad experience in technology, financial markets and trading. Prior to Tradition, Greg worked with Mr. Muller at DirectDealer.com, LLC where he was the COO with responsibility for product development, sales and marketing. Before DirectDealer in 2000, Greg had 15 years experience as a successful trader and banker in New York and London. From 1995 until 1999 he was a vice president at Credit Suisse First Boston where he specialized in trading derivatives and cash instruments for the bank’s treasury department. From 1991 until 1995 Greg was a vice president at Citibank London where he launched and managed the successful short-term interest rate derivatives trading desk. Greg relocated to London from Citibank’s New York office where he along with Mr. Muller setup and managed the department’s short-term arbitrage desk. Greg’s interest in technology resulted in the development of a number of proprietary pricing and trading models that he successfully used in managing his successful trading businesses. Greg initially developed his combined interest in technology and finance while working for a pioneering Wall Street software company as a summer intern and after graduating from college, a full-time employee. His in-depth and broad knowledge of the financial markets and technology will be vital for the success of FXDirectDealer. Mr. Michalowski graduated with a BS in Economics from Clemson University in 1983. Dr. Abel Raskas, Senior Vice President Dr. Raskas is the Founder and President of Advanced Technologies Group, the joint venture partner for FXDirectDealer. Over his distinguished career, Dr. Raskas has accumulated over 30 years of management and direct sales experience within a number of private and public companies. He has previously served as Vice President of Trimol Group, Ltd., a publicly traded company engaged in the business of producing specialized documents through patented software. As a Principal of Trimol Group, Ltd, Dr. Raskas was instrumental in bringing the company public. Prior to joining Trimol, Dr. Raskas was a Principal and Vice President of Ocean Bridge International, Ltd., a company principally engaged in commercial finance and International trade with Eastern European countries. In addition, he was the Founder and Principal of ABDATA Inc., a computer service bureau. Dr. Raskas has authored 20 articles and one book all in the field of management information systems. Shawn Dilkes , Chief Technology Officer Shawn Dilkes comes to FXDirectDealer from his position as owner and CEO of Clear Technology Group, a Wall Street technology consulting firm. Shawn's extensive experience in development, best practice, and networking along with his financial market knowledge and communication skills gives FXDirectDealer an all-around senior technology officer who can communicate with programmers, network engineers, fellow CTO's, as well as trading customers. Shawn earned his degree from Stevens Institute of
Stan Mashov, Director of Technology Stan,
FXDirectDealer’s Director of Technology, came to the FXDD from
Advanced Technologies Group, Ltd. where he held the position of vice
president and chief technology officer. At ATG, Stan assembled a
superior team of programmers, who, under his supervision, designed,
developed and implemented FX3000, a software system to meet trading,
risk management and back office business requirements.
The same team was used to develop and launch the
FXDirectDealer product and will be used to enhance and support the
product in the future. Prior to his involvement with ATG, Mr. Mashov had his own firm that provided training in network engineering and operations consulting services for financial services firms. He also worked for several years with Tiger Information Systems, a supplier of technology solutions for major investment banks. Mr. Mashov received his Degree in Accounting from Berkeley College in 1992.
Dmitry Finkelstein, Director of Software Development Mr.Finkelstein joined ATG in the beginning of 2000 as a special technical adviser. Mr.Finkelstein was instrumental in establishing ATG's Software Development Department. As a Director of the Software Development Department, Mr. Finkelstein is managing development efforts dedicated to FX3000, an on-line currency trading platform. Whileat ATG, Mr. Finkelstein assembled a number of talented and dedicated software professionals into a creative and productive development team with a high level of software engineering culture and challenging goals. More importantly, Mr. Finkelstein helped ATG establish a software development process and quality assurance practices targeted to achieve outstanding quality in order to meet Company's superior standards.With his broad software engineering experience Mr. Finkelstein also took part in the development of high-level design and architectural concepts for the next generation of the FX3000 platform and has been managing all the analytical, design, implementation and testing activities for subsequent FX3000 releases. Mr.Finkelstein holds a Master of Science Degree in Mathematics from St. Petersburg Institute of Fine Mechanics and Optics.
